ZsaZsa journey to new home in Scottsdale

ZsaZsa's report 10032015
Day 2 of my new home

Two mornings ago my best friend Terri took me over to a new place. This was October 1, 2015.
There were hundreds of cacti, strange trees, a yard with a little hill and enough room to run around in big circles. I met Charlie, Muffin and Nubs, the visiting dog. I also met one of the two humans, who spent some time with me the night before. They seemed nice at the hotel but I certainly didn't tip my hand at first meeting.

We went to this new place in the morning, where the humans lived. Terri promised me everything would be OK. I trusted her. Charlie and I started running around the yard. Nubs ran around even faster and I was really enjoying myself. Later, Terri had to go do some things and she told me good-bye. I was really sad to see her leave after all she did for me. But I was excited about running around with the other dogs. I wondered if this was really a fun place.

The second human came home from work a little later, we played some more. In the afternoon I expressed my opinion about the yard maintenance crew next door. They created a racket with various machines and blowing dust. So I told them in no uncertain terms, to stop the noise and don't you dare come in my yard. The crew ignored my opinion about the noise. Soon it was dinner time.

Charlie and I had chuck steak and chicken. The other two dogs settled for kibble; I know because I smelled it. After dinner we just hung out mainly in the yard. Charlie went swimming and chased a ball, I considered this carefully but decided to skip it for now. I wanted to play chase and examine the many toys lying around, but running was a lot more fun. The humans let me do what I wanted (what a twist) and didn't fuss over me too much, but they did talk to me and petted me a little. I gave one of them a swift kiss.

When we went to bed, I saw a crate there. The humans bribed me with delicious wild boar, but I knew what they were up to. I successfully got the boar but not the crate. So one of the
humans, Nubs and I left the bedroom and we fell asleep in the room with the TV.

The next day was pretty much like the first. I wanted to be petted a little more, but nothing too fast or serious. I wasn't sure if the humans really liked me so I rolled over on my back. Sure enough that pose attracted a tummy rub. This was getting kool! All I had to do was roll over or push up next to one of them for attention to my ear, tummy or back. Not bad.

We had more chicken that day. I ate in the kitchen while Muffin and Nubs were together in the utility room and Charlie ate outside. We all finished at about the same time and had the chance to inspect each others food bowls. Speaking of the kitchen, I was compelled to examine the counter tops, but with only limited success. The humans told me to leave this area alone. They were polite about it, so I decided to control the urge and remain on all fours.

Bed time was a repeat of the wild boar trick. No rate for this Kuvasz, so a human, Nubs and I went to sleep in a different bedroom. We got up before sunrise. It was dark but I found something good to eat in the yard. The human took it away from me and said I shouldn't eat an old Saguaro boot. Actually, it wasn't that tasty anyway.

When it got light, the other human came out with Charlie and Muffin. Charlie and Muffin were still waking up and not much interested in play. But Nubs was. We started chasing each other. He darted under furniture and was really hard to catch. He ran out onto open ground and I knew I could catch him.

I was running very fast, even jumped over him at full charge once. I heard a human say, "wow, look at that, can you believe how fast Zsa Zsa is". We got really excited, but a human intervened with a treat to calm everything down. We had the same chicken breakfast. After a very short rest we ran around again and watched the sun come up. I saw this as my chance to remind the long gone yard crew not to come into my area.

A short time later I heard the humans having a long serious discussion. Most of what they said escaped me, but I heard the word WALK. Pretty soon leads came out and Charlie and I were escorted out of the side gate. This was interesting, We walked down to Cactus Rd. and turned east facing on coming traffic. It was very loud with fast cars, but nothing new to me. At the end of the block, I saw a grate across the road. No problem either. I was really anxious for a walk so I probably pulled too much and paid too little heed to commands, but I really needed this. We saw one homeowner on this trip and I said Hello.

After we got home I rested for about 5 minutes, then decided to resume an unfinished project from yesterday. Digging. I started five holes, including one in the sandbox. These starter holds were very shallow and require lots of additional work. I heard the humans say that digging is good for a Kuvasz and actually got rewarded with a treat for my efforts.

Right now we are just hanging out. I watched a human come back from a shopping trip to my welcome at the door. We might have a new human visitor later in the day.

The final big event of the day will be dinner (probably chicken) which I'm getting a little bored with and going to bed. The humans know the crate bribe doesn't work. I wonder what they will do!

In summary, everything has been pretty good. As we all know humans aren't perfect and sometimes I think the same might apply to some Kuvasz.

I'm a happy girl here. I'm asking to be touched and I have been giving more kisses.

Please forgive such a long note. I just wanted everyone who loved and cared for me the most to know all is good.

XOXO
