Our dream began....

with our first Kuvasz "Ilsa", bought as a "pet quality" companion. How can there be a dog more beautiful than Ilsa? Over 25 years ago, "Ilsa" was the puppy who stole our hearts and began to teach us the mysteries of life with a Kuvasz. Our lives were changed forever.

The more we learned about the breed, the more we realized how little we knew. About thirteen years ago, a six month old puppy was returned to his breeder and "Laszlo" became our first show dog.

Casablanca was born with our goal to breed a kuvasz in the United States that is true to its Hungarian heritage. A Kuvasz able to work like its ancestors had, on the puszta and in the villages for a thousand years. A guard dog and family dog by instinct, yet one that could compete successfully under the FCI standard, the standard written by the Hungarian Kuvasz Club as well as the AKC standard. We began to carefully study in person and in photos and tapes what we liked and didn't like about kuvasz internationally. We needed a foundation bitch, and a breeding in 1996 produced two exceptional bitches. All we had to do was choose the one who would be "Hali"!
